Dr Imtiaz KHAN
Dr. Imtiaz A. Khan began pursuing his passion in helping others by joining Helping Hands in 1999 as a medical volunteer in Kosovo, Yugoslavia. After this experience, Dr. Khan became a founding member of Doctors Worldwide, an international medical and developmental non-profit organization. He volunteered with them regularly and has traveled extensively to lead medical teams into various areas of need, including most recently Sri Lanka after the Asian tsunami and in Pakistan after the 2005 earthquake.
Dr. Khan received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bio-sciences and completed his postgraduate work at the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, SC. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Khan has 12 years of experience working in the private healthcare sector as a Family Medicine Specialist. He served as the Chief Medical Officer with Regenesis Community Health Center, with a focus on helping revitalize the community through preventative and comprehensive healthcare.
Dr. Khan is currently working for a Fortune 500 Company, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, as a Medical Director for State Sponsored Business. He collaborates with leaders in healthcare – physicians, hospitals and health care organizations. He helps to shape agendas for quality, safety and clinical outcomes with the aim of improving patient healthcare.
Currently, Dr. Khan serves as the Chairman of the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists and has been an integral founding member of Doctors WorldWide USA where he serves as President of the Board of Directors.
